1-3 Sandgate High Street has glass roof and front to it's first floor because it was the photographic studio of William Henry Jacob c1887-1918.

13 High Street in 2024 Nirvana Hairdressers. This sign was discovered in renovation work. It refers to the shop being Appleyards Agency Booksellers between 1932 and 1940. Owned by William Appleyard whose father was a London based publisher.
